Situated on 3.3 hectares of country gardens, including a three-hole golf course, tennis court and solar-heated salt-chlorinated swimming pool, and bush track, Kanturk Country Retreat is a private sanctuary where you can unwind away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is located at the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula just 45 minutes from Melbourne. Enjoy the birdlife as you have a barbecue with family and friends, wander through native bushland, the tall trees on the fairways, or plunge into the sparkling water of the pool. You may even hold a small family gathering or celebration in an event that won't break the budget.

Our Cottages

Choose from three private cottages that accommodate up to 19 people

All cottages have full kitchen facilities however if you would like it stocked with continental or full breakfast provisions, please order it when you book in.

Our three-hole golf course is great fun for both novice and experienced players, however with out country greens, we advise you don't get too hung up on your short game.  If you are after a more challenging game, Centenary Park's 18 holes are not far away.

Make a romantic weekend away extra special with a hamper lunch to enjoy at a secluded part of the garden. Whether you would like to sit by the dam, in the orchard, or bushland, the choice is yours.

Shielded by the cypress hedge, the tennis court makes for great fun having a match with family and friends. The pool adjoining it offers cool respite in summer.

Pool and barbecue

The barbecue pavilion and salt-chlorinated, solar heated pool is a great spot to cool off in summer. It is a lovely space for a bbq in summer, or relax into the evening.  The LED lighting transforms the space at night.

Bush walks

In the mornings or late afternoon, take a stroll through the tracks around the property and spot the many species of birdlife at Kanturk. You can incorporate the country lanes of block for a 3.6km walk, or Langwarrin Flora and Fauna Reserve for a more challenging adventure.

Celebrate your significant family events such as a 60th birthday, wedding, or family reunion  in a relaxed setting and invite your friends (up to 50 people). You can arrange your own sips and nibbles, or we can help put you in touch with local suppliers.

Cultural experiences

Wander through the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park, or Mornington Regional Gallery. If art doesn't take your fancy, visit the National Trust property Mulberry Hill, the home of Sir Daryl and Lady Joan Lindsay who was best known as author of  the novel

Picnic at Hanging Rock.

My Husband and I got married at Kanturk. It rained all weekend but couldn't have asked for a more perfect day and weekend. We booked all three cottages as our families stayed also. We had so much fun and Sally was awesome; she couldn't do enough for us. If you are looking for a getaway to forget about the outside world; stay at Kanturk Country Retreat. The property is just beautiful
